How we work
Knox & Sons Dumpster Rental Topeka is a locally-based roll-off dumpster company. For the great majority of jobs we own and operate our own trucks and containers, and our own crew handles delivery, placement, pickup and disposal — we are not, as a general matter, a referral service dispatching your job to someone else. When you call (785) 329-2155, you are in most cases booking directly with the company that will show up at your address. See "Referrals to independent providers" below and our Disclaimer for the limited exception to this.
Using this website
Content on this site is provided for general information about our services. We work to keep it accurate and current, but sizes, weight allowances, availability and pricing can change, and nothing on this site is a binding quotation. A quote is only firm once we give it to you directly for your specific job.
Quotes and pricing
Quotes are given by telephone based on the information you provide about the material, location and duration. A quote is confirmed as a flat rate before any container is scheduled, and covers delivery, the standard seven-day rental period, collection and disposal. Payment is collected at the time of booking to secure your delivery date, by major credit or debit card. Materially different information — a different debris type, an inaccessible placement, a container that cannot be collected — may change the price.
Delivery, placement and access
You are responsible for ensuring the delivery location is accessible, legal and suitable, and for clearing vehicles, debris and obstructions before the delivery window. A container placed entirely on private property generally needs no permit. Placement on a public street or sidewalk can require a temporary permit — for Topeka addresses, one issued by the City of Topeka, and a separate process for Auburn, Rossville, Silver Lake and Willard — and you are responsible for confirming and obtaining any permit required for your placement; ask us and we'll walk you through it. If your project involves excavation near the container's location, you are responsible for contacting Kansas811, Kansas's statewide one-call system (dial 811, or visit kansas811.com), at least two full working days before digging.
We use reasonable care when placing containers, including boards under the rails on driveway or curb placements as standard. Roll-off delivery and collection nevertheless places significant point loads on any surface. We are not liable for damage to driveways, curbing, lawns, irrigation systems, buried utilities or overhead lines where placement was at your direction, where the surface or subgrade was already compromised, or where hidden features were not disclosed. If you have any concern about a surface, tell us before delivery and we will discuss alternatives.
Seasonal considerations
Delivery and collection may be affected by conditions common to Kansas, including winter snow and ice, as well as seasonal spikes in yard-waste volume each spring and fall. We will advise you as early as we reasonably can where these affect your booking, and will work with you to reschedule.
Loading and prohibited materials
Containers must be loaded level with the top rail. Overloaded or heaped containers cannot be transported legally and may be refused, incurring a return charge. You must not place in any container: liquids of any kind, wet paint, solvents, fuels, oils, pesticides or agricultural chemicals, batteries, tires, propane or other pressurized cylinders, appliances containing refrigerant, medical or biohazardous waste, hot ashes, radioactive material, or any material containing asbestos. Yard waste must be kept separate from general debris and is not accepted mixed in. Prohibited items may result in rejection of the load, contamination charges and any costs incurred in lawful disposal, which are passed on to you.
Rental period, extensions and collection
The standard rental period is seven days from delivery. Extensions are available on request, with cost advised at the time. If a container cannot be collected on the scheduled date because of access, weather, overloading or prohibited contents, a return-visit charge may apply.
Risk and responsibility
The container remains our property throughout the rental. From delivery until collection you are responsible for the container and its contents, for keeping the area safe, and for ensuring nobody climbs on or into it. Do not move, alter or relocate a container yourself.
Referrals to independent providers
Knox & Sons Dumpster Rental Topeka performs the great majority of its work directly, with our own equipment and crew. In certain circumstances — including high demand, specialized waste needs, or service-area limitations — we may instead refer you to an independent third-party provider. When that happens, that provider sets their own price and performs that specific job; there is no added cost to you for the referral itself, and the referral does not change the terms of any work we perform ourselves. A referred provider is not an employee, contractor or agent of Knox & Sons Dumpster Rental Topeka, and Knox & Sons Dumpster Rental Topeka is not responsible for damages or disputes arising from work an independently referred provider performs. We encourage you to confirm a referred provider's licensing, insurance and pricing before proceeding. Full detail is in our Disclaimer.
Limitation of liability
Knox & Sons Dumpster Rental Topeka is not responsible for losses or damages resulting from circumstances outside our reasonable control, including severe weather, access issues at your property, municipal restrictions, or damage resulting from placement instructions you provide us. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount paid to us for the job in question, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit or project delay. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Intellectual property
All content on this site, including text, layout, graphics and logos, is the property of Knox & Sons Dumpster Rental Topeka or its licensors and may not be reproduced without permission.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Kansas, and any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Kansas, including the courts of Shawnee County where applicable.
